Begin with the source, conditions, and affected materials

A stain, damp wall, wet basement area, or recurring leak does not always reveal where water entered. The first useful step is to document when the issue appears, review the likely pathways, and identify what additional investigation may be required before repair work is defined.

How the assessment credit works

Meiju reviews the reported symptoms, accessible conditions, and relevant exterior or interior areas. If the resulting repair project is approved at $2,500 or more before HST and Meiju completes that work, $295 is credited once toward the agreement. The assessment and credit do not replace specialist testing, engineering, emergency mitigation, or insurance review when those services are required.

Information that improves the assessment

  • Where and when water, staining, odour, or dampness appears
  • Whether the issue follows rain, snowmelt, plumbing use, or another event
  • Photographs, previous repairs, and any known foundation, roof, drainage, or plumbing history

What happens next

After reviewing the available conditions, Meiju will explain the practical next step. That may be a defined repair, further investigation, drying or material removal, or referral to a specialist when the source is outside the appropriate service scope.

Questions

Offer FAQ

Is the assessment free?

No. The offer provides a $295 credit when Meiju completes a qualifying repair agreement of at least $2,500 before HST.

Is emergency water removal included?

Not automatically. Emergency mitigation, drying, remediation, and reconstruction are included only when they are specifically written into the approved scope.

Does the assessment guarantee the source will be found?

No. Concealed conditions can require destructive investigation, testing, engineering, or specialist review before the source can be confirmed.

What should I send with my request?

Include the property address, photographs, when the issue appears, affected rooms or materials, and any known repair or insurance history.
